Didn’t initially plan on coming here yesterday – but with my usual barber calling in sick, and with no chance of coming back to Manchester before Christmas, I decided to find somewhere else, hitting the jackpot with Lena and the Chop Shop! Lena was absolutely amazing, so kind and so skilled with her work, wasn’t expecting any of the additional services she added (razor along my hairline, etc). Really made me feel a lot more human after a rough few weeks; thank you again Lena ❤️
First time visiting the Butchers Chop Shop. Easy to book in with decent availability, saw Jay for a beard and hair trim, he smashed it.
I struggle for a good barber with my ridiculously thick hair/beard he tamed them both with ease, even dropping a new haircut style.
Decent shop, well located, skilled and knowledgeable barbers.. Highly recommend
Cannot recommend Lena enough, I have been a regular customer to her for months now. I find going to a barber very difficult, maybe awkward but I feel like I’ve found someone who makes an event I would dread, into an event I look forward to! Lena is extremely skilled, beyond words and gives the best cuts I have ever received and made me comfortable throughout! Cannot recommend Lena / Chop Shop enough!
Had a haircut from a girl called Elena/Yelena (can’t remember what her name was)
Honestly I could go to a 3rd world country and get a skin fade 5x better than the one I was given by her. She left some huge thick line going all the way around my head. After I told her to flatten the sides a little so that I don’t look like a mushroom. She told me the line is because of me telling her to flatten the sides. I’ve been getting a haircut weekly for like the last 15 years of my life. I know you can easily flatten the sides without putting a line there. One side of my head was a super high fade, the back was a low fade and the other side was a mid fade. After I told her these issues she went and made them worse by taking more weight out of my hair (the hair that I had been growing for months). She then tried to proceed with my beard and I told her to stop. She then offered to clean the back of my neck hairs and I just told her not to move forward with anything. I just said let me pay for what you’ve done, I don’t want you touching anything else and the cheek on this lady to charge me a full £45 for literally the worst haircut I’ve had in my entire life. The haircut was so bad that I actually wanted to get a razor blade and shave all my hair off.
Don’t get me wrong, she’s a lovely girl but a very bad barber. It took another barber 30 minutes to rectify everything she had done and he had to change my whole haircut bringing the fade a lot higher and now I’m going to have to spend a month or two growing my hair again to get it to where it was. I was growing it for a family members wedding which is in two weeks.
Never ever will I get a haircut from her again. Potentially never even go back to the barber shop it self. You should have trained staff in there.
I can honestly say for the first time I felt pleased with the trim I’ve got. I’ve always felt nervous when getting a trim due to multiple bad experiences with other barbers but for the first time in while I got what I came for, a good haircut. The barber Lena was fully supportive and gave an excellent no BS advice and trim and what suits be best depending on my face shape and hair type.
Honestly best experience and trim I had and I’m definitely coming back.
