I came to Barber Below after not being completely satisfied with the cuts I used to get from my old barber, hoping for a braver barber to help me explore more interesting styles, and from my first appointment Urma has not disappointed!
Super friendly and made me feel instantly comfortable and confident that we could try styles outside the norm of “male barbering”. I’ve been back multiple times now and never been unhappy with the cuts I’ve had, and always left feeling more confident and empowered to try more the next time I’m in!
I’ve also had my hair coloured by Urma which is the first time in years I’ve had it coloured professionally and was so in love with my colour that I’m already booked for my next one!
Creative and exciting staff ; very helpful when asking for advice. Brilliant, precise haircut! Definitely worth the adventure into town! Alix is a wonderful barber, definitely going again. Thank you 🙂
100% recommend, Alix is a lovely guy and he is very talented. I got my first long haircut from him and I love it.
Had a fantastic experience with Lena who was happy to do my haircut upstairs so I didn’t have to tackle the stairs (just make sure you mention this when arriving). Asked for a more classic look and she listened and delivered! Will definitely be back.
Edit Nov 2025: I now see Alix at BB who is amazing. Always gives me great advice on how to care for my hair, happy to follow reference pics I show him, and makes my hair look fab. I have “East Asian hair” which other barbers have told me can be tricky to cut, and my partner has curly hair – never a problem for Alix at all.
I’ve had a wonderful experience with Josh, as my barber. He’s got exactly what i wanted from a haircut every-time I’ve visited the shop(which can be difficult with my kinky curly hair). His dye jobs are great, where previously i would’ve needed to get two treatments of bleach to get my desired colour. Josh, has got it in one go. Saving me, time and money; I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
